Safety on China’s rails

China is the country of the “fast track” on the long haul. Eight high-speed rail networks connecting north and south and east and west have already been in operation for several years. These lines are now in a condition that requires maintenance and repair. The project is led by the China Railway Shanghai Bureau. “Our FIS EM 390 S meets these high demands with its various properties, such as its strong holding forces and resistance to water, heat and humidity, whether in frost or warm temperatures,” describes Jiang Zong, Managing Director of fischer China. This is because while temperatures in the north and north-east of China can be as low as freezing and chilly as possible, it can be extremely hot and humid in the south and eastern coastal regions. This must be taken into account when planning, maintaining and controlling infrastructure and vehicles.
The FIS EM 390 S injection mortar from Fischer achieves particularly high load-bearing capacities in concrete and withstands extreme conditions, as in the application case in China. It is used with reinforcement bars and suitable system components, such as the Fischer FIS An anchor rod or the Fischer RG M I internal thread anchor. The epoxy resin mortar can also be used in water filled boreholes and seismic applications. It also has high corrosion and fire resistance. All in all, this makes it a safe choice for track repair in China, but also for the attachment of new rails or underwater installation, for example.

The responsible parties have extremely strict requirements for the performance of the products in order to ensure the effectiveness of the anchoring components even in the event of cracks in the roadway or base plates.
