The metal anchor for wood and chipboard screws.

Metal expansion anchor FMD

The fischer metal expansion anchor FMD is particularly suitable for securely fixing gas and water pipes, cable and pipe brackets in concrete, aerated concrete and solid and hollow building materials, as well as in solid gypsum panels. The special anchor is used in the pre-positioned installation, hammered directly into aerated concrete without pre-drilling. Inserting the screw causes the plug to expand, and the metal teeth fix the anchor securely in the building material. The ribbed internal geometry of the FMD makes it possible to guide the screw securely. The use of wood and chipboard screws increases the flexibility. The external teeth expand in the building material, thus ensuring a high load-bearing capacity.

Assembly instruction

Functionality
  • The FMD is suitable for pre-positioned installation.
  • Inserting the screw causes the FMD to expand, and the metal teeth fix the anchor securely in the building material.
  • The required (stud) screw length is given by: Anchor length + plaster and/or insulation layer thickness + fixture thickness or installation spacing + 1 x screw diameter.
  • Suitable for wood and chipboard screws.
  • The drill diameter is relative to the compressive strength of the building material. The higher the compressive strength, the greater the drill diameter. The 6x32 and 8x38 sizes can be hammered directly into low-strength aerated concrete without the need for pre-drilling.
